JOIN US FOR Wilderness Safety Training at Stillwater Community Education

Class Description:  Basic Wilderness Safety for Children, Adults and Families.

Basic Wilderness Safety is a hands on class to help outdoor enthusiasts, camping families and those who enjoy hunting and fishing to learn the basics of backcountry and wilderness safety.  Coursework includes equipment and clothing, the “Ten Essentials”, wilderness preparedness, accident avoidance, what to do if you get lost and avoiding the hazards of nature.  

The class will use hands on demonstration of gear, clothing, basic navigation (map and compass) fire making and wilderness survival scenarios.  Everyone who attends will receive a Backcountry Safety Guide, handouts and practice exercises.
