Wilderness Safety Resources
Every year hundreds of children and adults go into the wilderness
inadequately prepared and informed. Many will be lost or injured. JFF
is committed to reducing the incidents of loss and injury though
effective safety training, information and tools.
We offer the following:
- Training and presentations to many types of groups like scouts, church groups and community organizations.
- FREE safety kits.
The lightweight kits contain "ten key safety tips," a Mylar mirror and
an emergency whistle that can be used to signal for help. Our
partners--tourism centers, outfitters, back country organizations,
scout troops, search and rescue groups, and law enforcement--help us
get the kits in the hands of people going out into the wilderness.
- Tools and information like the ten essentials and critical safety tips that can help you prepare before venturing out into the wilderness. Click here to download "ten key safety tips".
